YORK, PA - York College sophomore goalie
Chase Broughman earned the MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for the Spartans.
Broughman led the Spartans to a 1-0-1 week as the Spartans are 3--0-1 in their last four contests.
In the non-conference match up against F&M Broughman made six saves in the 1-1 tie. He stood tall in the second half in preserving the tie for the Spartans.
On Saturday, Broughman registered four saves and was 18 seconds away from a shutout as Misericordia was awarded a PK. The Cougars converted the chance from the spot but the Spartans still picked up their fourth win of the year.
For the season, Broughman is 3-0-2 as he has played an important reserve role for an injured
Jake Bono. He has played 450 minutes, allowed four goals (0.80 gaa), and 21 saves, good for a .840 save percentage.
