YORK, PA - York College sophomore forward
Kelbie Linebaugh has been named the MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
Linebaugh had another big day on Saturday in York's 3-0 win over St. Mary's.
Linebaugh got the Spartans on the board with a scramble goal off a loose ball in front of the cage. She battled with a trio of St. Mary's defenders as she was able to elevate a shot into the back of the cage for the 1-0 lead. The goal was Linebaugh's fourth of the year and her first game-winner of the year.
York tacked onto the lead just under three minutes later a Linebaugh forced a turnover at the top of the circle. She stole the ball and took a few touches before flicking the ball into the back of the cage for the 2-0 lead.
Linebaugh leads the team with 10 points on five goals in seven games. She has scored her five goals on just eighth total shots.
