YORK, PA - York College sophomore forward
Claire Burrows was named the MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Burrows had a good week for the Spartans as York picked up a pair of Centennial Conference road wins this past week.
In the double-overtime win over #24 Swarthmore, Burrows notched the game winner in double overtime. Burrows got the game winner just 39 seconds into the second overtime as the Spartans earned a corner. Burrows took the initial shot off the corner but that first shot was saved. She hustled to get the rebound and poked home the second chance to give York the huge road win.
In the win over Bryn Mawr, Burrows tied the game just over two minutes into the second half. The Spartans scored the game-winner two minutes later to secure a second huge road win.
