YORK, PA – The York College baseball squad had a trio of Spartans honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Tuesday as the league announced their 2025 baseball All-Academic squad.

Lucas Prendergast were lauded for their academic and athletic performance in 2025.

The Spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2025 spring semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Kennedy was a absolute workhorse out of the Spartan pen. He made 20 appearances, threw 21.1 innings, went 1-1 with a league high 10 saves. He boasted a 2.53 ERA while his WHIP was just 1.03. Kennedy struck out 20 and walked just four as opponents hit a paltry .237 against him.

He concluded his Spartan career with a record of 9-6 in a school-record 70 appearances, all out of the Spartan bullpen. He threw 110 innings, struck out 87 and recorded a school-record 20 saves for the Green and White.

Kennedy graduated with a degree in Healthcare Administration in May. He had one of his best Spartan semesters with spring GPA of 3.66.

Tinneny led the Spartan offense with a .373 batting average as he played in and started all 44 games for the Green and White. Tinneny recorded 40 runs scored, 60 hits, nine doubles, three triples, and four home runs. He had a team-leading 42 RBI in addition to 87 total bases, a .540 slugging and a 1.025 OPS. Tinneny drew a team-best 30 walks while he was also hit by 10 pitches as he recorded a .485 on-base percentage.

Tinneny concluded his Spartan career with a .338 batting average in 156 career games. He scored 132 runs, had 191 hits, 41 doubles, six triples, 16 home runs and 132 RBI. Tinneny had a .517 career slugging percentage with 292 total bases. He drew 65 career walks with 38 at-bats ending in a hit by pitch.

Tinneny graduated in May with a Business Administration degree with a minor in marketing. He finished the spring term with a GPA of 3.60.

Prendergast had a strong junior campaign with a .358 batting average in his 44 games played. He had 51 runs scored, 58 base hits, 17 doubles, one triple and six home runs. Prendergast drove in 39 as he led the team with 95 total bases. His .586 slugging percentage led the way for the Green and White while he also had a stellar .481 on-base percentage with 23 walks and 18 hit by pitches. He stole five bases during the year.
Prendergast is a career .352 hitter in 118 career games for York. He has 110 run scored, 33 doubles, three triples and eighth home runs. Prendergast has 79 career RBI to go along with a .506 slugging percentage and a .476 on base percentage. He has drawn 60 walks and been hit by 44 pitches during his time in the Green and White.

Prendergast earned his undergraduate degree in three years, earning a Business Administration degree. He had a 3.75 spring semester GPA and graduates with a 3.84 overall GPA. He returns to the Spartan next year as a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Strategic Leadership.

Kennedy, Tinneny and Predergast all earned first-team MAC All-Commonwealth honors in addition to being ABCA All-Region V selections this spring.
