YORK, PA – The Spartan men's soccer team placed six players on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squad as announced by the organization recently.
Seniors
Luke Nall,
Matt Zeiders,
Noah Roche, and
Dermot Williamson along with sophomores
Dylan Marco and
Gavin Huey were named the all-district squad.
To earn a spot on the team, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and also must be a significant contributor to the team.
Nall makes his third CSC Academic All-District honor and was a 2022 CSC first-team Academic All-America selection. Nall is a six-time member of the Dean's List and owns a 3.98 GPA as a computer engineering major at York.
Nall tallied 10 points on four goals and two assists for the Green and White including a pair of game-winners for the Spartans. He was a second-team MAC All-Commonwealth pick and ends his career as a three-time all-league player.
Zeiders is now a three-time Academic All-District honoree after closing out his career as a first-team MAC All-Commonwealth campaign. Zeiders is a civil engineering major who owns a 3.95 GPA and is a six-time member of the Dean's List.
Zeiders recorded nine points on two goals and five assists including his goal that tied the MAC Commonwealth championship game at Messiah. He played in and started 74 games in his career as he played 5,291 career minutes, seventh on the career minutes played list.
Roche makes his second appearance on the all-district list. He is a sport management major who owns a 3.89 GPA. Roche is a six-time member of the Dean's List.
Roche, who was a All-Commonwealth honorable mention selection, led the Spartans in scoring with 14 points on six goals and two assists. Two of his goals were game-winners for the Green and White. Roche finished his career with 40 points on 14 goals and 12 assists for the Spartans.
Williamson is a mechanical engineering major who owns a 3.92 GPA as a Spartan. He is a five-time member of the Dean's List at York.
Williamson had a fantastic year on the back line for the Green and White as he earned second-team MAC All-Commonwealth honors. Williamson had nine points on four goals and one assist as he was a force on set pieces for the Spartans. Half of his goals were game-winners for York.
Marco is a sport management major who owns a 3.70 GPA. He is a two-time member of the Dean's List at York.
Marco joined Williamson to form one of the best defensive tandems in the region. Marco earned his second MAC All-Commonwealth honor as he had six points on two goals and two assists from his central defense position. York finished with a goals against average of 0.81 as they allowed just 17 goals in 21 games thanks in large part to the efforts of Williamson and Marco.
Huey burst onto the scene of the Spartans as a sophomore. He is a mechanical engineering major who sports a 3.96 GPA and is a two-time member of the Dean's List.
Huey finished second on the team in scoring with 11 points on four goals and three assists. He had the game-winning goals in the matches at Arcadia and in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals against Widener.
The Spartans finished the year with a record of 14-2-5 as they engineered an eight game turnaround from the 2023 season. Marco and Huey are slated to return to the Spartan lineup in 2025.
