Marco had a goal and an assist in win for the Spartans

ASTON, PA – The York College men's soccer team posted their first win of the year as they downed future MAC Commonwealth opponent Neumann 2-1 on Wednesday evening in Aston, PA.
The Spartans scored early, gave up the equalizer and then posted the game-winner late in the first half.
York improves to 1-1-1 overall while the Knights fall to 1-2.

How It Happened
• The Spartans drew first blood in the 14th minute of the game as they earned a free kick. Junior captain Dylan Marco finished off the free kick for his first goal of the year and the 1-0 Spartan lead. The Knights registered the equalizer as Or Megnazi scored off a pass from Luke Mejia in the 22nd minute, knotting the score at one.
• The Spartans took led lead on another set play as Marco took another free kick and found Gavin Huey who finished off the chance for the 2-1 Spartan lead. The Knights held a slight 8-7 edge in total first half shots but York had a 5-3 edge in shots on goal in the stanza.
• The second half was played at a frenetic pace with the Spartans trying to add to the lead while the Knights were furiously trying to tie the game at two. Neither team found the back of the net in the second 45 but it wasn't for a lack of trying. York out shot the Knights 8-6 in the second half including 7-2 in shots on goal.
• York finished the game with a 15-14 margin in total shots but a significant 12-5 bulge in shots on goal. Both teams had four corners in the match.
