Wisznewski Scores Twice as Spartans Salvage 2-2 Tie

York got two Tannor Wiszneski goals to escape LVC with a tie on Saturday

ANNVILLE, PA – The York College men's soccer team got a game-tying goal with 55 seconds left in the game to forge a 2-2 tie with Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon in Annville, PA.
Freshman Tannor Wiszneski was the star of the show for the Spartans as he scored both goals for York, making for a very memorable day.
The Spartans are now 1-1-2 all-time while the Dutchmen are now 1-1-1.

How It Happened
• After the first 23 minutes of play were spent with both teams playing stellar defense, the Dutchmen broke on top with a nice counter. Ethan Groff and Nathan Prex had a nice give and go with Groff picking up the goal and Prex getting the assist for the 1-0 lead 25:20 into the game.
• The two squads continued to battle the remainder of the first half without any additional scoring. Lebanon Valley out shot the Spartans 11-9 including 6-4 in shots on goal. York did hold a 5-2 bulge in corner kicks in the first half.
• The Dutchmen tacked onto their lead nine minutes into the second half. Harrison Davis sliced through the Spartan defense before finding a hard charging Prex in the middle of the box. Prex is no stranger to that position as he finished the chance for the 2-0 Dutchmen lead.
• The Spartans got on the board in the 65th minute. Colin Findlay blasted a free kick on to goal. The initial shot was saved but Tannor Wiszneski settled the rebound and poked it home for his first collegiate goal.
• The Green and White got the equalizer inside the final minute as their high pressure paid off. The Spartans had their first chance with a ball across the goalmouth. York was able to keep the ball in play and fired a shot towards cage. LVC goalie Ethan Bazydola punched the ball towards the bar but the ball never reached the bar and came right down to the foot of Wiszneski who capped the comeback with the goal.
• York finished the game with a 19-17 edge in total shots and a 13-9 margin in shots on goal. York also held a significant 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
