YORK, PA – York College senior midfielder
Matt Zeiders has earned Academic All-MAC honors as announced by the league office on Friday.
Zeiders is the second Spartan men's soccer in York's four seasons in the MAC to earn the honor, joining teammate
Luke Nall who won the award in 2022.
The MAC directors of athletic communications nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Zeiders is a civil engineering major and owns an overall GPA of 3.95 as he recorded a 4.00 in the fall semester. He is a six-time member of the Dean's List.
Zeiders played in and started all 21 games for the Spartans as he notched nine points on two goals and five assists. He finished his career with 74 career starts and 5,291 minutes played. Zeiders scored 16 points on five goals and six assists during his career from his central midfield position.
He earned MAC All-Commonwealth first team honors this past fall while he was also selected as a second-team All-Region honoree.
The Spartans went 14-2-5 for the year, marking the most wins for the program since the 2013 season when the Green and White went 19-3-1. York advanced to the MAC Commonwealth championship match for the first time as members of the league where they dropped a tight 2-1 loss to Messiah.
