How It Happened:

• The Spartans jumped on DeSales starter Ian Kacergis early in the first. Garrett Kile started the uprising with a one out single down the left field line. Austin Denlinger moved Kile to second with a single and Jack Barry loaded the bases as he was hit by a pitch. Joe Capobianco scored Kile with the game's first run thanks to a sacrifice fly to center. Jimmy Wiegers then plated Denlinger with an RBI single as the Spartans led 2-0.

• York built on their lead in the fourth with two more runs. Capobianco and Wiegers opened the frame with back-to-back single. York's Brandon White sacrificed his two teammates up 90 feet. Brett DeWees drove home Capobianco with an infield single and Wiegers came home on a Craig Wiley squeeze bunt to give York a 4-0 lead.

• The Bulldogs answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth. DeSales was the beneficiary of a lead off walk and a Spartan error sandwiching a line out. A failed pick off scored one run and Trevor Leamer had an RBI single to make it 4-2. Justus Darville closed out the scoring in the inning with a sacrifice fly.

• The Bulldogs pushed in front in the fifth with another three run frame. The Bulldogs drew two walks to go along with a single to load the bases with one out. Billy Scanlon had a two run double down the left field line to score two. Leamer then added a sacrifice fly as the Bulldogs took a 6-4 lead.

• DeSales tacked on a run in the seventh on a Sergio Diaz sacrifice fly.

• York got that run back in the top of the eighth as Barry tripled and scored on a Wiegers single. Wiegers moved to second on a DeWees single but Zac Vittorelli got out of the jam with a strikeout.

• The Spartans went quietly in the ninth as JJ Paul notched a perfect inning, setting the Green and White down in order with a pair of strikeouts.
