MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The York College baseball team closed out their seven-game spring trip with a 10-5 win over Moravian College on Friday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

How It Happened

• The Spartans jumped all over the Greyhounds with a five run first inning to seize control of the game early. The Spartans had two outs and a runner on when Luke Turner had an RBI single to put York up 1-0. The Spartans loaded the bases when Rob Acierno was hit by a pitch. Davaughn Reid followed with a two-run double to right center, putting York up 3-0. Senior Bailey Doan capped the inning with another two-run double to left center as the lead was 5-0.

• The Green and White built on the lead in the third. After a strikeout to lead off the inning, Doan crushed a home run to center. Craig Wiley was then hit by a pitch and Jimmy Wiegers walked to put two Spartans on. Brandon White cleared the bases with a three-run shot as the lead grew to 9-0.

• York added to the lead in the fourth as Turner singled and moved to second on an error to lead off the inning. After the Greyhounds got the next two outs, Doan struck again with an RBI single to score Turner to make it 10-0.

• Moravian got a single run in the fifth and then closed out the scoring with three in the eighth and one in the ninth.
