Spartans Launch Four Home Runs in Victory Against Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The York Spartan baseball traveled to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday afternoon. The Green and White pulled out the 12-7 victory over the Flying Dutchmen.

Highlights 
Lucas Prendergast got the scoring started for the Spartans, blasting a solo shot over the fence in the top of the first. 

In the top of the second, York exploded offensively for five more runs. 

Richard Kline clobbered a solo shot of his own to make it 2-0. 

Ethan Hotchkiss followed that up with an RBI single. 

Jackson Ford tallied an RBI on a groundout as well. 

Later in the inning, Prendergast barreled up another, this time a two-run shot. 

The Flying Dutchmen scored their first two runs of the afternoon in the bottom of the third. 

Two RBI singles for the Spartans extended the lead to 8-2, as Jacob Deimling and Joe Urban knocked in one a piece. 

Lebanon Valley got two back in the fifth. 

Another RBI single in the sixth from Deimling made it 9-4, in favor of the Green and White. 

In the top seventh, Jackson Ford another run for the Spartans, singling home Matthew Wade

Luke Moser recorded a sacrifice fly later in the inning, putting York up 11-4. 

Lebanon Valley scratched across two of their own in the bottom half of the seventh. 

The Flying Dutchman inched even closer in the eighth, narrowing the lead to 11-7. 

York finished off the job in the ninth, adding an insurance run on a Wade home run before securing the victory. 

CJ Scism started the game on the bump for the Spartans, tossing 3.0 innings. 

Eric Wolfer was first in relief, picking up the win along the way. 

Bryce Avery and Jason Cassidy followed, before Jake Ludwig recorded a clean sheet in the ninth to slam the door.

York is now 15-10 all-time against Lebanon Valley… the Spartans are now 8-7 on the road against the Flying Dutchmen… The Green and White now hold a 3-7 record in their last 10 match-ups against Lebanon Valley. The Spartans improve to 14-17 overall on the season.
