YORK, Pa. - The York College baseball team opened up a MAC Commonwealth Series against Alvernia, Friday. The Spartans drove in four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, getting a key 7-3 victory.

Highlights
York showed its power in the bottom of the second inning.
Matthew Wade blasted a two-run shot to left field to give the Spartans an early 2-0 lead.
Ethan Hotchkiss followed with a home run down the left field line, extending the lead to 3-0.
Alvernia tied the game, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
The Spartans regained the lead in the bottom half of the seventh inning. The Green and White had bases loaded when
Richard Kline singled through the left side.

Luke Moser, and
Jacob Deimling all came in to score.
Joe Urban followed with an RBI single, extending the lead to 7-3.
York held the Golden Wolves down for the final two innings, claiming the 7-3 victory.
Konnor Reeser started on the mound for York. He allowed just one run on five hits, in six innings of work. Reeser walked three and struck out three.
Jake Ludwig got the win for the Spartans, improving to 2-0 on the season. In three innings of relief, he allowed two runs (unearned) and four hits. He walked one and struck out one.
Notes
York is now 15-6 all-time against Alvernia … the Spartans are now 10-3 at home against the Golden Wolves… The Green and White now hold a 8-2 record in their last 10 match-ups against Alvernia.
