The Cardinals have now won three straight as they are now 3-3 overall. York falls to 1-7 with the setback.

How It Happened

• Catholic jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Eric Scamardella singled up the middle and moved to third on a Stefan Poggioli single to center. Scamardella scored on a Jake Crist sacrifice fly for CUA's first run. Anthony Ferlise would single home Poggioli as the Cardinals took the two run lead.

• The Spartans got on the board in the third as Zach Hossler walked, moved to second on a Sean Mohollen single to right and scored on a Christian Bilan RBI single to center.

• The Cardinals build on their lead with a six-run fifth inning. The Cardinals got their six runs on six hits and a walk. CUA did most of their damage with two outs as five of the six runs were scored after the Spartans got a pair of outs.

• York got a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, cutting CUA's lead to 8-3. Luke Knott drew a bases loaded walk to score one run while York's second run came on a Steve Miller sacrifice fly to right.

• York made it 8-4 in the top of the seventh as Mohollen reached on an error and would eventually come around to score on a passed ball.

• The Cardinals put the game away in the bottom of the seventh as they put up a five spot to push their lead to 13-4. CUA got the five runs on six hits in the inning.

• York closed out the inning with two runs in the top of the eighth, providing for the final score. Scott Steffy and Mohollen each had RBI singles in the frame.
