GLASSBORO, NJ-York College sophomore
right-hander Matt Austin (Shrewsbury,
PA/Susquehannock) twirled a four-hit shutout as the
Spartans won their second straight with a 5-0 win at Rowan
University on Thursday in Glassboro, NJ. The Spartans improve to
9-4 overall as they have won eight of their last nine games. Rowan
falls to 5-6 for the season.
The Spartans struck first with a single run in
the third as freshman Anthony Anzalone (Rocky Point,
NY/Rocky Point) singled home fellow freshman Mark
Miloski (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) for York's
first run.
The green and white added a second run in the
fifth as senior Jeff Young (Wilmington,
DE/Brandywine) singled home Miloski. York made it 3-0 with
a Dennis Maxim (Port Jefferson Station, NY/St.
Anthony's) sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
York closed out the scoring in the seventh with
a Ryan Craig (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) RBI
double and a Ryan Poff (York, PA/Spring Grove)
sacrifice fly.

allowed a single in the fourth, two singles in the seventh and a
double in the eight. His one walk came with two outs in the ninth
inning. Austin struck out four and recorded 15 ground ball outs in
the game. He improves to 3-0 with the win as his ERA falls to

NY/Newfield) led the offense as he banged out four hits in
five at-bats with a run scored. Young and Miloski each had a pair
of hits. Young added an RBI and a run scored while Miloski scored
twice for YCP.
Tim Edmeads had the Profs' lone extra base
hit with his eighth inning double. Joe Franceschini, Roger Turley,
