NEWTOWN, Pa. – The York College baseball team had eight players earn MAC All-Commonwealth honors as announced by the league on Monday morning.
The senior middle infield duo,
Lucas Prendergast and
Luke Moser along with Designated Hitter,
Richard Kline earned first-team honors. Sophomore relief pitcher
Jake Ludwig and senior outfielders
Alex Neeld and
Brett Michael tabbed second-team honors. Junior catcher
Matthew Wade and senior third baseman,
Joe Urban were named to the honorable mention team.
Prendergast is a three time All-MAC Commonwealth honoree, this is second-straight first team recognition. The senior batted a career-high .403 this season with 17 doubles, two triples, and five home runs.
Moser earns his first all-conference nod, making first team. The senior batted .327 with seven doubles and a triple. He started all 41 games this season for the Green and White.
Kline batted .304 in his sophomore season, giving him first team all-conference honors. The sophomore hit six home runs and brought in 23 runs for the Spartans.
Neeld earned second-team honors for the second-straight season. The senior batted .299 with a team-leading nine home runs. Neeld also led the Spartans with 31 RBIs this season.
Michael batted .350 this season, tabbing second-team honors. The senior had six doubles, a triple, and three home runs for the Spartans.
Wade and Urban rounded out All-MAC honors earning honorable mention nods. Wade brought in 22 runs on eight doubles and five home runs. Urban batted .318 and had 21 runs batted in for the Green and White.
The Spartans finished the year with a 19-22 record overall. In conference, the Green and White were 10-12 and appeared in the MAC Commonwealth Championship semifinal.
