MANHEIM, Pa. - Eight members of the York College women's wrestling program earned Scholar All-American honors awarded by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) for their academic and athletic success throughout the season.
Makyla Bolinger - Freshman - Mechanical Engineering
Kallie Bower - Freshman - Accounting
Allison Brandt - Junior - PreMedical Sciences
Emma Lavalle - Junior - Mechanical Engineering
Sarah Lynn - Sophomore - Sport Media
Lexi Mazzella - Senior - Nursing
Rebekah Patzke - Junior - Exercise Science
Maura White - Junior - Mechanical Engineering
These outstanding student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following academic and athletic criteria:
- A top-eight finisher at nationals with at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- A national qualifier with at least a 3.25 Cumulative GPA
- Competed in a minimum of 15 matches with at least a 3.5 Cumulative GPA
White qualified for nationals after placing third at regionals. The junior capped her season with a 35-7 record.
Bolinger, Bower, Brandt, Lavalle, Lynn, Mazzella, and Patzke all wrestled in over 15 matches throughout the season in addition to being outstanding performers in the classroom.
Lavalle, Patzke and White are all three-time NWCA Scholar All-Americans. The eight honorees is a new program record for the Green and White.
