Peyton Fries (28-5) and Maura White (34-4) both punched their tickets to nationals by capturing one of the top-three qualifying spots in their weight classes. Fries finished second at 207 lbs. and white nabbed third in the 138-pound class.

Fries began her day with a 7-4 decision over Jamie Shapton (WLU) in the semifinals. The sophomore ended her tournament with a loss to Lindsay Laws (LHU) in the finals with Laws scoring a fall with just two seconds remaining.

White started the day with a heartbreaking 8-4 loss to Ragan Retell (ESU) in the semifinals which snapped her 21-match win streak. The junior showed the true heart of a Spartan and battled back to win the necessary two matches to clinch a national berth. White scored a fall (3:46) over Paisley Fos (Ursinus) in the consolation semifinals before notching three takedowns in a 10-5 triumph over Lili Ujfalvi (Gannon) in the consolation final to clinch third place.

White will make her third appearance at the national tournament and is the first wrestler in program history to become a three-time national qualifier. Fries will be making her first appearance at nationals in her first season with the Green and White.
