YORK, PA – York College junior first baseman
Gretchen Barstad has earned NFCA All-Region V honors as announced by the organization on Friday afternoon.
Barstad earned third team honors after a strong junior campaign in which she led the Spartans in a number of different categories. Barstad is now a two-time All-Region V selection for the Spartans.
Barstad finished the year hitting .391 with 28 runs scored, nine doubles, three triples and five home runs. She drove in 26 runs, had 73 total bases in addition to 14 walks and two hit by pitches. Barstad had a 1.129 OPS, a .664 slugging percentage and a .465 on-base percentage.
Barstad led the team in multi-hit games with 11 including two four hit games during the year. She finished the year with an active seven-game hit streak after having an eight game streak earlier in the year. Barstad tied for the team-lead with eight multi-RBI games including a season high five RBI against LeTourneau on March 8.
Barstad was named to the MAC All-Commonwealth for the season straight year eight days ago and her name was all over the MAC Comonwealth statistical leaders. Barstad finished the year fifth in the league in batting average, fifth in OPS, tenth in doubles, fifth in home runs, 12
th in RBI, fifth in total bases (73), and fifth in slugging percentage.
Barstad also threw 58.1 innings in the circle as she was 5-5 in 15 appearances including seven starts for the Green and White.
Barstad will headline the Spartan returners for the 2026 campaign.
