YORK, PA – The York College women's swim team is siting sixth of ten teams after day one of the four-day Middle Atlantic Conference championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, PA.
The Spartans have accumulated 126 points after four events on day one. Stevens leads the team standings with 376.5 points while Misericordia is second with 250 points. Messiah sits third with 203 while Widener (148.5 points) and FDU (130 points) are right in front of York.
Junior
Isabella Klemm defended her 200 IM title as she held off Stevens Eszter Kiss, recording a time of 2:08.23. Klemm set a new school record in the preliminaries as she posted a time of 2:07.58. Klemm is now a two-time MAC gold medalist. The win was her team-leading 24
th of the season.
First year Spartan
Annika Doutrich made her MAC Championship debut a memorable one as she finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:11.47, finishing 0.75 seconds behind defending champion Tamsin Formon from Misericordia. Doutrich bettered her morning swim by over three seconds.
Freshman
Annie Custis was York's third top 16 finisher as she won the B final of the 50 free with a time of 25.06, earning 20 team points for the Spartans.
The 200 medley relay team consisting of
Ryann Price,
Regan Hyder,
Kendra Winkleblech, and
McKinley Stokley combined to post a time of 2:03.70 as they finished tenth.
