Klemm Heading Back to NCAA Swimming Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - York College senior Isabella Klemm officially earned her spot at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships as the list of qualifiers were announced on Friday.

The championships will be held March 18-21 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Franklin College, the Indiana Sports Corporation and the IU Natatorium will serve as hosts. A total of 526 swimmers will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the swimming portion of the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered.

Klemm qualified for the 100 breaststroke with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:02.42 which ranks ninth heading into the national meet. She hit that mark in her home pool back on November 22, 2025 on day two of the Spartan Splash and it remained one of the top-10 times in the nation for the next three months. Her time of 1:02.42 is a personal-best for the senior which lowered her own York and Middle Atlantic Conference overall records. Kelmm has also received an invite to compete in the 200 breaststroke and 100 butterfly at the championship meet.

The York senior is one of just two Middle Atlantic Conference swimmers, male or female, to represent the conference at the national meet this season as she will be joined by sophomore Delaney Klaus from Stevens who earned a spot in the 100 backstroke. Klemm was the lone MAC representative last year's NCAA meet for either gender.

Klemm is no stranger to the NCAA Championships as she qualified last season as a junior in the 100 breaststroke, and also competed in the 50 freestyle and 200 breaststroke. She finished 18th in the 100 breast, just .14 seconds outside of a top-16 spot, in addition to finishing 29th in the 200 breast and 53rd in the 50 free.

The Spartan senior now stands alone in York history as the only women's swimmer to qualify for the national competition multiple times throughout her career. She is one of just two Spartan women's swimmers to earn an invitation, joining Justine Wantz (2019) in the exclusive club.

Klemm will enter the NCAA Championships coming off another stellar performance at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships where she earned her second-straight David B. Eavenson MAC Women's Swimmer of the Year Award. She  led all women with three individual gold medals, winning the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM, while also contributing to silver medals in both the 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay, in addition to a bronze in the 400 medley relay.
