Women’s Wrestling Opens Dual Season with Tri-Match Split

EWING, N.J. - The York women's wrestling team opened the dual season on Saturday with a 1-1 record in a tri-match against Delaware Valley and Eastern. The Spartans defeated Del Val 40-10 and suffered a 29-16 loss to Eastern.

Highlights
The Spartans opened the day by winning eight out of 10 bouts against the Aggies with five wins via fall. York won just three bouts against Easter - all by forfeit - and picked up a team point from a 6-4 loss by Kyle Monroe at 160 lbs.

Kallie Bower and Allison Brandt both went 2-0 in dual matches on the day to lead the Green and White. The Spartans also went 5-for-5 in extra matches with Riley Stubbs recording the fastest fall of the day for York at 0:11.
