Game One - How It Happened
• The Spartans fell behind early as the Bulldogs took advantage of three one-out walks to load the bases in the bottom of the first. After a fielder's choice for out number two, the Bulldogs took advantage of an error that allowed a pair of runs to score. Sophia Magcale then doubled to right to drive home the Bulldogs' third run of the inning.
• The Bulldogs added to the lead in the second with a pair of two out runs. Natalie Horton was plunked with a two-out pitch. She stole second and then scored on a Paige Messenlehner singled to left to make it 4-0. Jenay Scott singled to right to score Messenlehner for the 5-0 lead.
• Redlands continued to pour it on in the third as Magcale had an RBI single and she came around on Brooklyn Bard sacrifice fly to make it 7-0 through three innings of play.
• The Bulldogs finished off the scoring with a four-spot in the bottom of the fourth as they led 11-0. York broke up the shutout in the top of the fifth as Bri McKeown singled through the left side to open the inning. York pinch ran for McKeown with Kyrsten Coppage. Coppage moved to second on a ground out and to third on a single by Kylee Paules. Coppage came around to score when Olivia Turchi hit a ball to third that was ruled an error, enabling the Spartans to spoil the shutout.

Game Two – How It Happened
• The game two started with offensive fireworks and never really stopped. The Spartans opened the scoring in the first as Gretchen Barstad blasted a majestic home run down the left field line to give York the early 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs wasted little time in getting on the board as they plated three runs on just one hit as the Spartans had walked three and committed an error.
• After a scoreless second inning, the Spartans got a pair of runs in the top of the third. Barstad drew a one-out walk and came around to score on a Daphney Adams double to left center. Adams then came around to score on an Emma Wade single to left as York led 4-3. Redlands tied the game in the bottom of the third as Ashley Shelton had an RBI double to right center.
• The Spartan offense recaptured the lead with a three-run rally. The uprising started with a Morgan Sauers two-run double to right center, giving York the 6-4 lead. York loaded the bases and then got a run on an errant throw from the first baseman with the bases loaded to score their seventh run. The lead was very short lived as the Bulldogs exploded for six runs on five hits with one Spartan error in the bottom of the frame. It could have been worse as Redlands left the bases loaded to end the inning.
• Redlands kept pouring it on in the fifth as they tallied four more runs. The Bulldogs scored their four runs on four hits with another two Spartan errors in the frame. Redlands ended the game in the sixth on single, a sacrifice bunt, a bunt single and stolen base followed by a blooper that got lost in the sun, allowing the game-ending run to score.

Spartan Notes
The games are the first meeting between the two programs … York is now 1-2 on their California spring trip … the Spartan pitchers combined to walk 12 Redlands hitters in the two games … the Spartans committed six errors in game two, the most since they had six miscues in a 12-10 win over Albright on April 2, 2022 … the 26 runs allowed in a doubleheader is the most in a twin bill in the Kaitlyn Dulac era as the previous high was 21 in a split with Arcadia on March 29, 2022 … Gretchen Barstad's game two home run was her first career round tripper … senior catcher Daphney Adams continued her hot start with another three hits in six at bats in the two games.
