White Wins as Spartans Fall to ESU

YORK, Pa. - The York women's wrestling team scored points in two bouts in a 33-6 loss to East Stroudsburg in a home dual meet on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
The Warriors cruised to victory with four falls and received two forfeits in their seven victories on the day.

Maura White recorded York's lone victory of the day with a fall in a come-from-behind performance against Ruth Ansah at 136 lbs. White trailed 11-4 into the second period before converting a takedown into a fall for sixth-straight dual meet victory. The Spartan freshman is now 6-1 in dual meet matches this season and 16-6 overall. The loss for Ansah is her first in a dual meet this season as she falls to 6-1 and 22-10 overall.

Rebekah Patzke also scored a team point for the Spartans after losing on tie-break criteria to Angelina Hiller as the two wrestled to a 12-12 draw at 143 lbs. Hiller won the tie-break as she scored the maximum number of points (twice) on a single move with a pair of four-point takedowns during the bout.
