Spartan junior
Isabella Klemm had a huge weekend as she earned a trio of wins at the Invitational as she won the 200 IM, the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke. Her 100 breaststroke prelim time of 1:03.41 set a new Middle Atlantic Conference record, a new school record and a new pool record. It was also an NCAA B cut time. Her time in the 200 breaststroke of 2:23.62 set a new MAC standard for this season by over four seconds which was a mark she already held. Her 200 breaststroke time also set a new school and pool record for the junior. She shaved just under four seconds off her 200 IM time which was also already the best mark in the conference.
Klemm now has a team-leading 16 individual wins.
The Spartans also set a new pair of relay pool records. The foursome of
Annika Doutrich,
Camden Perella,
Annie Custis and Klemm set new pool records in the 800 free relay with a time of 8:05.30. The foursome did it again on Sunday, winning the 400 free relay in a record time of 3:38.71. The 800 free relay time in the second best mark in the league while the 400 free mark betters their already best time in the conference.
In addition to Klemm's three wins, first-year Spartan Custis earned York's other individual victory, winning the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:00.00. Custis also earned a third-place finish in the 100 free during the weekend and a fourth place finish in the 50 free. The win for Custis was her second career collegiate win.
Doutrich had a very good first Spartan Splash meet with a trio of runner-up finishes for the Spartans. She was second in the 500 free, second in the 200 free and also runner-up in the 1650 free for the weekend.
Perella earned York's other third place finish as she notched a time of 1:59.28 in the 200 free. Perella also had a fourth in the 500 free, and a fifth in the 100 free.
