Women’s Wrestling Sweeps Tri-Match for First Dual Wins

FROSTBURG, Md. - The York women's wrestling team collected their first two dual wins in program history on Saturday by sweeping a tri-match with Bluefield State and Frostburg State.

How It Happened 
  • The Spartans began the day with a 26-23 victory over Bluefield State. Maura White notched York's only non-forfeit victory of the dual with a first-period fall over Malia Cook at 143 lbs. Emma Lavalle's victory by forfeit at 191 lbs. lifted York to victory as the Spartans trailed by two heading into the final bout.
  • The Spartans received three forfeits and a pair of injury default victories in their 26-18 victory over Frostburg State to end the day. Ava Weibley scored a first-period fall in her exhibition match with Aurora Walters at 116 lbs.
