How it happened
After fending off a free-position shot in the first minute, LVC went on to score the opening goal of the game on the ensuing possession. That would end up being the high point of Lebanon Valley's day as the Spartans would go on to score seven-straight times, including four tallies in less than two minutes, to take a 7-1 lead with 12:31 left in the first half. Chloe MacDonald led the way, scoring three of her game-high four goals on York's seven-goal run.
York would go on to out-score the Dutchmen, 5-2, in the final 12 minutes of the first half as Teresa Matthias posted a pair of tallies to lead the Spartans during that run. York's first-half scoring barrage was fueled by dominance on the draw as the Spartans owned a 13-3 advantage. Jenna Cholowinksi led the way with five first-half draw controls, while Madison Kurland collected four.
Ashley Diefolf's goal with 23:45 forced the game back into a running clock and the Spartans maintained their 10-goal led for 20 minutes until back-to-back Dutchmen tallies cut the lead to nine with 3:30 left. Anya Litofsky put the finishing touches on the victory as her goal with 2:51 left extended the Spartan lead back to 10.
