Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The No. 7 York College women's lacrosse team rolled to their fourth-straight victory over the season following a 19-4 triumph at Hood on Saturday.
How it happened:
The Spartans (4-0, 2-0) put the Blazers (2-1, 1-1) away early as they ripped off eight-straight goals in the first 15 minutes of play. York cashed in three times on free-position opportunities during the opening barrage. Rachel Della and Madison Marciniak led the way with two goals apiece, while Chloe MacDonald paced York with three draw controls during the eight-goal run.
After Hood stopped the Spartan run with a goal to make the score 8-1, York responded with four-straight tallies before Hood got one back as the Spartans took a 12-2 lead into halftime. York has now owned a double-digit first half in three out of four games this season.
York went 3-for-3 on free-position opportunities in the second half courtesy of Riley Roeder, Kiersten Blanchard and Madison Kurland. Roeder and Blanchard led the second-half scoring effort with two goals each.
