HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Spartans did all their offensive damage in the first inning with three runs on three hits. York began the day with back-to-back extra-base hits with an Elle Meyer double, followed by an RBI-triple by Shyla Pastore to put York on the board. Pastore scored two batters later on an RBI-single by Hannah Vogt. The Spartans tacked one more run as Taylor Coon worked a two-out walk with the bases loaded to bring in Alyssa Harhigh.
• Pastore tossed six-straight scoreless innings, surrendering just four hits during that span and allowed runners to reach scoring position just three times.
• York maintained its three-run lead all the way to the top of the seventh, but the Thunder gave York quite a scare as the inning unfolded. Trine began the seventh with a lead-off double and two batters later brought the run in with a single through the right side. Pastore surrendered a walk to the next batter, but managed to strikeout the next to get to two outs with two runners still on base. Trine found some two-out lightning and scratched another run across with a single through the left side, but Pastore managed to get a ground ball out of the next batter as the defense got the out at second to end the game and pull off the upset win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After manufacturing a run in the top of the first, Hannah Vogt jump-started the offense with a two-run homer in the second as York opened up a 3-0 lead.
• Shyla Pastore put the ball in play with two runners in scoring position in the fifth as her ground out to short allowed Natalie Decena to score from third. Vogt came through once again at the dish as her single brought in Elle Meyer from third.
• The Spartans erupted for five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single by Vogt. Daphney Adams swelled the lead to double digits with an RBI-single to right as Alyssa Harhigh came home to cap off the scoring for the inning.
• Taylor Lindsay polished off the complete-game, no-hit shutout with two fly outs and a ground out in the bottom of the sixth. Lindsay faced just two batters over the minimum (18) as her two walks were the only Illinois baserunners of the game.
NOTES
The Spartans have now knocked off a ranked team in each of the last three seasons, with victories over Christopher Newport in each of the previous two seasons … Taylor Lindsay tossed the first no-hitter for York since Ginger Lewis did so against Alverno in the season-opener on February 24, 2018 … Lindsays' seven strikeouts is a season-high for the sophomore pitcher … Hannah Vogt's five RBI against Illinois College ties Alyssa Harhigh for the most in a single game this season.
