How It Happened:

• The Spartans had the momentum early as senior Regan Cook found the back of the net off a nifty feed from fellow senior Hayley McCormick just 1:02 into the game. The Green and White made it 2-0 just 59 seconds later as Meghan Fox scored an unassisted goal, giving York the early advantage.

• The Big Red tied the game with goals from Molly Fischer and Allaire Kotz over the next four minutes of play. York recaptured the lead less than two minutes after the Kotz goal as Fox recorded her second goal with 21:28 left in the opening half.

• Denison responded with back-to-back goals from Casey McTague and Kiely Noonan as the Big Red Took a 4-3 lead with 18:48 left in the half. Cook tied the game for the third time with her second goal of the game at the 11:46 mark. Fox then gave York the 5-4 halftime lead with her third goal of the game off a pass from McCormick as the Green and White headed to the locker room with the one goal advantage.

• York wasted little time in extending their lead in the second half. Cook notched her third goal of the game 2:39 into the second stanza off a Devin Hursey pass from the wing. Cook stayed hot as she scored her fourth goal of the game off as Fox found a cutting Cook in the heart of the Big Red defense for the easy goal.

• Fischer halted four goal Spartan run as Kotz found her streaking down the middle of the crease for the low shot and goal. Fischer struck again four minutes later, cutting the Spartan lead to 7-6.

• York responded in emphatic fashion as they ripped off six straight goals. Fox scored to kick off the run with 21:22 left in the game. Cook then scored three straight goals to put York up 11-6 with 12:36 left in the game.

Rachel Della and Madison Marciniak scored the final two goals for the Spartans as the Green and White cruised to the win.

Fox is the other Spartan in double figures with 11 points on eight goals and three assists … sophomore Riley DiFiore has been spectacular as she has a 7.22 goals against average and a .662 save percentage … DiFiore has recorded 45 saves in three games as she has had 14 saves or more in all three of her games this year … York has converted 7-of-24 free position shots for the year … York has been a bit sloppy with the ball as they already have 56 turnovers in their three games … the Spartans have outscored their three opponents by a total of 18-7 in the second half ... the loss for Denison snapped a ten-game homefield win streak for the Big Red.
