How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a quick start on the night, beginning the game with four straight goals in the opening 7:40 of the game. Hayley McCormick opened the festivities with an unassisted goal to put York on top 3:38 into the game. Chloe MacDonald then struck for back-to-back tallies to push the lead to 3-0. McCormick closed out the run with her second goal of the game.
• LVC's Emily Haid got the hosts on the board with an unassisted goal at the 19:42 mark. York responded with five straight goals starting with a Teresa Matthias goal with 19:50 left in the opening half. Meghan Fox, Jenna Cholowinski, Regan Cook, and Jordan Conley followed with goals as the Spartan lead grew to 9-1.
• The Dutchmen got a pair of goals to cut York's lead to 9-3, but again, the Spartans answered with three straight goals to end the half. Fox, Cook and Madison Marciniak scored for York as the Green and White notched a season-high 12 first half goals.
• LVC got a third goal from Haid to open the second half but the Spartans ripped off the final eight goals of the game. Kiersten Blanchard had a big half as the freshman tallied three of York's eight goals in the half while Matthias added two second half tallies. Cholowinski, Anya Litofsky, and Ashley Dierolf also scored in the second half for the Green and White.
