How It Happened

• The Sea Gulls would strike first in the top of the second running taking advantage of a Spartan error. Kaleigh Edwards came around to score when an error of the bat of Kendall Dixon gave Salisbury the early 1-0 lead. York would respond in the bottom of the third scoring three runs on just two hits while also taking advantage of a Sea Gull error. Madison Brumagin would come in to tie the game after a Salisbury error on a ball off the bat of Elle Meyer. Two batters later, Alyssa Harhigh would blast a two-run homer to center as York led 3-1 after three innings.

• Salisbury would get one run back in the top of the fourth scoring a run on three hits. They would then take the lead with a two-run blast by Madeira Alexander in the fifth inning as Salisbury retook the lead 4-3.

• A Taylor Lindsay double along with a Salisbury error would bring home Mia Ruffalo to tie the score back up at 4-4. Neither team would score in the final two innings of regulation and we went to extra tied still at four apiece.

• Salisbury would do a lot of damage in the top off the eighth getting three runs on just two hits taking advantage of a pair of Spartan miscues in the field. All three runs scored by Salisbury were unearned. The first run came on a Dakotah Fraley double to center. Fraley would later score on a fielder's choice. Kaliegh Edwards would bring in the final run of the inning with a single to deep right field as York trailed by three with three outs to go. York would get one back when Julie Van O'Linda singled to left to bring in Natalie Decena who tripled the batter before, but York would be stopped at just one run and fall in the nightcap 7-5.
