• York wasted no time getting on the board by scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Elle Meyer led off the inning with a bunt single and then later stole second base. Meyer would come in to score on an infield single by Mia Ruffalo to get the Spartans on the board. Alyssa Harhigh, who singled earlier in the inning, would then come in to score on a Taylor Lindsay single to left field and York led 2-0 after one.
• The Lions would answer in a massive way using eight hits to bring in nine runs in the top of the second. The Lions would get RBI-hits from five different Lions in the inning including a pair of RBI-singles by Abigail Lord alone and Albright jumped out to a 9-2 lead after just two innings.
• After a pair of scoreless innings, Albright would strike again for two in the top of the fifth. Brooke Yerger would single up the middle to bring in the first run of the frame. A Jordan Chell RBI-groundout would bring in another Lion as Albright ballooned the lead to 11-2.
