Box Score YORK, PA – On a day in which goals were hard to come by, the York College women's soccer team was able to muster up just enough to pull out a 1-0 victory. The first half featured scrappy play by both teams which resulted in two yellow cards being given to the visiting Eagles of Mary Washington. York scored early in the second half and that was all the Green and White needed to secure the win.

How It Happened:
• The Spartans were able to break the near hour-long deadlock with a goal in the 58th minute. Sophomore defender Jenna Cholowinski sent a ball into the box off of a corner kick. The ball was met by the head of senior midfielder Ally Badman who put the ball into the back of the net and put the Spartans up 1-0.
• The Eagles nearly equalized just minutes later as Abby Zimmerman found herself with an open header off a corner kick but put the header just wide of goal.
• Junior goalkeeper Cat McCarty was called into action in the 88th minute as she saved a curling free kick from Brielle Mitchell. McCarty also made a save in the 89th minute to deny Olivia Severin and secure the 1-0 shutout win for the Green and White.
