Spartans Blank Chargers on Thursday Night

York got three different goal scorers in the win ove LBC

Box Score LANCASTER, PA – The York College women's soccer team got a nice bounce back result with a 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible College on Thursday night in Lancaster.
The Spartans rebounded nicely after a disappointing 2-1 setback against Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday evening at Graham Field.
The Spartans are now 4-2 overall while the Chargers fall to 2-2 overall.

How It Happened
The Spartans got off to a good start as they were on the offensive from the beginning of the game. The Green and White put two shots on goal in the first four minutes of the game. The Chargers got their lone first half shot as Janae Bergey put a shot off the post. It would be all Spartans from that point on in the first half.
• York opened the scoring in the 20th minute of play as Alexys Savage scored off a feed from Meg Kalthof to put the Spartans up 1-0. The Green and White needed just another five minutes to make it 2-0 as Abby Brown put a shot into the upper right 90 off a Holly Krieg pass for the two-goal advantage.
• York out shot the Chargers 16-1 in the first half including 7-0 in shots on goal. The Green and White also held a 7-1 bulge in corner kicks.
• The Spartans continued to control the game in the second half. The Green and White made it 3-0 as senior Lexi Mazzella drilled a shot into the goal to extend the lead. That would finalize the scoring as York continued to keep a huge advantage in possession.
• York out shot the Chargers 25-2 for the game including 11-0 in shots on goal. The Spartans held an 11-1 margin in corner kicks for the match.
