Box Score 2 SALISBURY, MD – The York College softball squad dropped a key Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon in Salisbury as the Sea Gulls swept the Green and White. The Sea Gulls won the opener 10-1 and completed the sweep with a 14-6 win in the nightcap.

How It Happened
• The Spartans fell behind early as Salisbury tallied a run in the first and three more in the second to seize control of the contest.
• Salisbury pushed the lead to 7-0 in the fourth with three more runs as all three runs came on home runs, a solo shot from Cat Ramagnano and a two run blast from Dakotah Fraley.
• York notched their lone run of the game in top of the fifth as Savannah Zittle had an RBI single to right center as York trailed 7-1.
• The Sea Gulls ended the game in the bottom of the fifth as Ramagnano blasted a three run homer to left center, giving the Gulls a 10-1 win.

How It Happened
• The Spartans opened the scoring in the second as Mia Ruffalo scored on a wild pitch with two outs, putting York up 1-0. The Sea Gulls responded with a three spot in the bottom of the frame. Amelia Trotter blasted a three-run home run with two outs to give Salisbury the 3-1 lead.
• The third inning was an explosive one as both teams plated four runs. Ashley Meekins blasted a grand slam, accounting for York's four runs. Salisbury got their four runs on four hits and one Spartan error as the Gulls led 7-5 after three innings.
• After a quiet fourth inning, York plated a run on an Ashley Werner RBI single to right center, scoring Meekins with York's sixth run. The Sea Gulls ended the game after five innings as they scored seven runs, turning a 7-6 lead into a 14-6 bulge. The Gulls got their seven runs on five hits, an error and a pair of walks.
