The Spartans scored the final four goals of the game, but the Cardinals' five consecutive goals in a matter of 4:38 through the middle portion of the second half proved to be too much to comeback from.

How it Happened:
• The Spartans fell behind 2-0 to Catholic less than three minutes into the game, but found an equally quick response, scoring twice in a span of 1:34. Devin Hursey scored the first York goal, converting from a free-position shot, an area she has excelled throughout the season. Skye Slater responded with 24:59 remaining in the first half, taking an assist from Meghan Fox. Nicolette Crisalli put the Cardinals back in front for the first of her six goals during the evening, but Slater scored less than two minutes later to level the score at 3-3.
• With 13:26 left in the half, Crisalli and Fox let loose on a head-to-head scoring battle that consisted of five goals in the next 6:33. Crisalli scored three for Catholic, while Fox put together consecutive goals leaving the Cardinals with a 6-5 lead with under five minutes to play. The Spartans were able to score two of the final three goals in the half, behind finishes from Regan Cook and Melissa Meehling. York actually led with 7-6 with 3:10 remaining, but the Cardinals equalized with 1:33 left before the halftime buzzer.
• Juliana Greco scored the first goal of the second half, pushing York to another lead, at 8-7. Again it was Crisalli, though, burying a chance for the Cardinals, scoring the first of two straight Catholic goals, putting the Spartans behind in the process. Fox tied the game at 9-9 with 19:28 to go, before the 22nd-ranked Cardinals scored five consecutive goals, opening a 14-9 lead with 13:07 to play. The fifth-ranked Spartans dug back in. Meehling scored twice, both unassisted, in a matter of 1:22 to close the deficit to three. Fox scored with 8:02 left and then Hursey again scored from a free-position shot to cut it to one goal. But, Catholic was able to hold on to its 14-13 advantage for the final 3:10, handing York its second straight loss.
