How It Happened
• The Bantams jumped on the Spartans early as Kiley Coffey opened the scoring with a goal 1:24 into the game. Trinity made it tough on the Spartans as York didn't have possession early on as the Bantams controlled the tempo of the game. York committed a pair of turnovers on their first two possessions, hampering York's ability to maintain possession.
• Trinity pushed their lead to 3-0 with goals from Allie Barrett at the 23:25 mark and Grace O'Donnell at the 21:53 mark of the first half.
• The Trinity defense continued to stifle the Spartan offense as the Bantams built on the lead. Coffey scored a second goal with 18:31 to push the lead to 4-0.
• York finally got their first shot with 14:14 left in the first half when freshman Meghan Fox fired a shot wide for the Spartans.
• The Bantams got a pair of goals late in the first half as Karly Simpson scored an unassisted goal with 3:56 left in the half. Coffey closed out the first half scoring with a free position goal with 30 seconds left in the opening 30 minutes of play.
• The Bantams kept their offense rolling in the second half as Simpson notched her third goal of the game to push Trinity's lead to 8-0, 2:40 into the second stanza.
• Trinity built the lead to 9-0 with 16:57 left in the game. York finally got on the board with 15:25 left as Skye Slater found the back of the net off a pass from Kelly Curran. Junior captain Melissa Meehling made it 10-2 with an unassisted goal with 10:39 left in the game.
• York's run continued with goals from Fox and Regan Cook as the Spartan deficit was trimmed to six.
• Grace O'Donnell halted the Spartan spurt with a goal off a pass from Clare Lyne with 6:01 remaining in regulation.
• York closed out the scoring with a Rachel Saks goal with 5:32 left. The Spartans had a chance to add more but they couldn't find the back of the net on four shots in the final four minutes of the game.

The Spartans see their record breaking season come to a close with a school-record 16 wins as they advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time in school history (2015) … York is now 6-6 all time in the NCAA Tournament and are now 0-2 on the road in the NCAA Tournament … York's 9-0 deficit was the largest the Spartans have ever faced in the NCAA Tournament … Trinity advances to face Gettysburg as the Bullets defeated Salisbury 10-2 in their quarterfinal game in Gettysburg … senior Katelyn Cattrano completed her season with a school-record 30 assists and finished her career ranked fourth all-time in assists with 58.

The loss concludes the Spartans' 2017 season. York must say good bye to seniors Erin Mensch, Rachel Saks, Katelyn Cattrano, Katie Owens, Jordan Cassella, and Kelly Curran. The senior class went 58-22 over their four year careers. Spartan head coach Jen Muston will return seven of her top nine scorers in addition to Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year Nicole Clauter and CAC Rookie of the Year Meghan Fox. The Spartans will open their 2018 season in mid-February.
