How it Happened:
• Catholic scored the first goal of the game just before the first five minutes ran off the clock, but it would be the only lead the Cardinals would hold all day. In a span of 5:18, the seventh-ranked Spartans exploded for five consecutive goals to jump out to an early 5-1 advantage. Kayleigh Phillips started things off for York with 21:39 left, igniting a ferocious run of scoring. Meghan Fox scored consecutive goals off of assists from Katelyn Cattrano and Rachel Saks, as those two continued their solid play. Cattrano now has 11 assists in the last four games. Saks scored next, just 43 seconds after Fox's second, and then Melissa Meehling added another in the next 41 seconds. It was an explosive couple minutes, a period that was vital in taking down the 11th-ranked Cardinals.

• The run wasn't over after five goals, though. Both teams went scoreless for over seven minutes before Devin Hursey and Cattrano added their first goals of the game. In total, it was a 7-0 run in 14:54 for the Spartans. Catholic was able to get a goal back, but then Skye Slater scored the first of her career-high four goals to take York into the halftime break with an 8-2 lead.

• Catholic looked poised to make a run to open the second half, scoring within the first minute, but Saks scored her second just over a minute later. Again Catholic fought back with Laura Dunn scoring her second goal, and then Nicolette Crisalli notching another one, to bring the Cardinals within four goals, at 9-5.

• But York remained steady and blistered the Cardinals with five of the last six goals of the game to pull away 14-6. Slater scored three of those final five York goals to really cement her mark on the game. Fox and fellow freshman Regan Cook also scored to help the Spartans pull away.
