How It Happened
• The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning, when the Spartans busted the game open with four runs on five hits, behind two dingers. Savannah Zittle led off with a single through the left side. Katie Maloney laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Zittle over to second, and she was able to reach third on a single from Joanna Marmo. With two on and one out, Carleigh Ruleman, the all-time home run leader in school history, blasted a three-run shot to left field. Haley Hirn went back-to-back when she rocketed one to left field, making it 4-0.
• The Spartans added two more in the fifth when Ashley Werner drove home Hirn. Werner would finish with three hits on the day. She came around to score to make it 6-0 off a double from Savannah Galati, who was next up in the lineup. Galati had two doubles in the first game.
• Meanwhile, Ginger Lewis was dealing in the circle for York. She had a no-hitter going until the bottom of the seventh, the Blue Jay's last at bat. Christina Dark led off the inning with a double to record the first and only hit. Lewis finished with a complete-game shutout, giving up just one hit.

How It Happened
• Elizabethtown's offense continued to sputter against the dominant York pitching. In game two it was Melissa Jurkiewicz in the circle for York. She didn't give up her first hit until the bottom of the fifth, when she gave up just one. Overall, the Blue Jays finished with just two hits as Jurkiewicz went eight innings, without giving up a run.
• York had some chances in regulation, leaving nine runners on base throughout the game. In the opening inning, they had two on base after Savannah Zittle singled to lead off and then Carleigh Ruleman was walked. They had two more runners on base with two outs in the second inning, when Quinn Fisher and Julie Van O'Linda hit singles. Fisher had three hits. In the top of the seventh, York had runners on second and third with two outs, but could not manufacture any runs, forcing an eighth inning with the score tied at 0-0.
• In the top of the eighth, Mia Ruffalo was placed on second due to extra inning rules. Ruleman was first up, doubling to center and scoring Ruffalo. Kara Hanson pinch ran for Ruleman. She moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Haley Hirn, and then scored to double the York lead when Ashley Werner launched a sacrifice fly to center. The two-run lead was plenty for Jurkiewicz, who kept E-town hitless in the bottom of the eighth.
