How it Happened:
• York opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game, behind a Kayleigh Phillips goal, assisted by Meghan Fox. The hot start was quickly answered by the 12th-ranked Falcons. Messiah scored just 22 seconds later, and added three more before there was eight minutes left in the first half. Messiah led 4-1 after Jenna Stover's third goal in a row, this time off a free-position shot.

• With 7:39 left in the first half, Regan Cook halted the four-goal run with one of her own. Despite the final goal of the half, the Spartans trailed 4-2 at the break.

• York, though, came out in the second half with a vengeance, and Messiah couldn't find an answer. It took almost nine minutes into the second half, but Rachel Saks started it off for the Spartans. Less than four minutes later, Cook added her second goal, assisted by Devin Hursey, knotting the game up at four. Nine seconds later, Fox scored her first, giving York its first lead in about 39 minutes of game play. Fox doubled up under three minutes later, extending the Spartan lead to 6-4. The lead grew to 7-4 on a Skye Slater goal on a free-position shot.

• Stover scored her fourth for Messiah to trim the lead to 7-5, but the Falcons couldn't get any closer. Fox and Kelly Curran concluded the scoring for York, finishing off a 9-5 victory.
