How it Happened:
• York netted its first goal of the season before the four-minute mark in the first half, with Rachel Saks converting on the first free-position attempt.
• The goal started a stretch of six goals in a row, three by freshman Regan Cook, to open a 6-0 lead on the Fords. Claudia DiVenti, who notched 10 goals in her freshman year last season, put away her first with just over 20 minutes remaining in the first half. Melissa Meehling joined the action, scoring on a free-position shot, pushing the lead to 5-0, before Cook added her third, thanks to a Meehling assist.
• With just over five minutes left in the first half, Haverford's Sarina Manetta put the Fords on the board, cutting the Spartan lead to 6-1.
• York, though, rebounded well and was able put away two more goals before the halftime break, including a Caitlin Rankin finish on a free-position shot with just seven seconds left. Jordan Cassella was the other scorer, with 2:18 remaining the half.
• The second half's scoring opened exactly as the first's did, with Saks burying a free-position shot. Again, Sak's goal started a string of six Spartan goals. Rankin and DiVenti scored their second goals of the game, both on unassisted tallies.
• Then, DiVenti assisted freshman Meghan Fox for her first-career goal just before the halfway point of the second half. Fox, less than four minutes later, scored her second goal, this time from a Cook assist, her second of the game.
• Devin Hursey, another freshman, scored her first-career goal with 10:56 remaining, pushing to the lead to its largest of the game, 13 goals, 14-1. Haverford would conclude the scoring with 3:24 left.
