HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The York College baseball team fell to Moravian College 13-5 in the second day of the Hampden-Sydney Classic in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia. The Spartans fall to 1-4 overall while the Greyhounds improve to 1-1.

How It Happened: 

• York jumped on the Greyhounds in the top of the first. Patrick Clement singled, moved to second on a ground out and scored on Christian Bilan's two out single.

• That lead was short lived as Moravian got three runs in the bottom of the first. Mike Mitti singled with one out. He stole second and Austin Markowski drew a walk. After a flyout, Cameron Leon launched a three run homer to give Moravian the two run lead after one inning of play.

• The Greyhounds blew the game open in the bottom of the third with a four run inning. Moravian scored the four runs on just one hit while York walked two and committed an error. The only hit was Leon's second home run of the day, another three run shot.

• Moravian added a single run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to push out to a 11-1 lead. They added a single tally in the bottom of the sixth for the 12-1 advantage.

• York struck for four runs in the top of the seventh fueled by a number of reserves. Mitchell Slater had one of the big blows with a two run single. Luke Knott then delivered a two run single of his own to account for the four Spartan runs.

• Moravian closed out the scoring with another single run in the seventh.
