YORK, Pa. - The York Spartan baseball team hosted Elizabethtown College, Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans went on to defeat the Blue Jays, 5-2.

Highlights
The Spartans plated the first run of the game in the third inning.
Jackson Ford led off the inning with a double.
Richard Kline brought Ford in on a RBI single up the middle.
The Green and White added another run in the fourth inning.
Joe Urban hit a single to center field, scoring
Brett Michael.
York scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Alex Neeld hit a RBI double, scoring Kline. Michael followed with a RBI single.
The Spartan's fifth run came in the sixth inning. York had base runners on the corners when Ford laid down a sacrifice bunt, plating Urban.
Elizabethtown's two runs came in the top of the eighth inning.
Jake Ludwig started for the Spartans. He tossed three innings, surrendering one hit. Ludwig struck out three.
Eric Chaney collected the win for the Spartans. In two innings of relief, he allowed three hits and two walks. Chaney struck out three.
Eric Wolfer also pitched in relief, recording a clean sheet.
Jason Cassidy tallied his fourth save of the season. He pitched 1.1 innings, allowing only one hit. Cassidy struck out one.
Notes
York is now 19-7-1 all-time against Elizabethtown… the Spartans are now 10-3-1 at home against the Blue Jays… The Green and White now hold a 8-2 record in their last 10 match-ups against Elizabethtown.
