FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The York College women's soccer squad dropped their second straight as they fell 5-2 at the University of Mary Washington on a soggy Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

How It Happened

• The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as they got a pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game. Lauren Brower scored 7:53 into the game and Allye Reynolds scored 1:07 later as UMW seized control of the game early. Shannon Blackstone assisted on both goals.

• UMW made it 3-0 in the 40^th minute as Kara Bruzdzinski found the back of the net off a pass from Christina Meyers.

• York got on the board 51 seconds prior to the half as goalie Brittany Cullison hit a long outlet to Corie Elliott who finished the chance for the Spartans' goal.

• York actually outshot the Eagles in the opening 45 minutes, 6-5. The Eagles had a 3-1 margin in corner kicks in the first half.

• Maryfay Jackson pushed the Eagles' lead to 4-1 with a pass from Reynolds.

• The Eagles put in an own goal to cut their lead to 4-2 with 13 minutes left in regulation.

• Jackson struck again with 2:09 left in regulation for her second goal of the game. Marisa Madaras assisted on the goal.
