Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA – It took almost a year but the University of Mary Washington Eagles exacted a little revenge on the York College Spartans as the Eagles ended the Spartans season with a 2-0 win in the opening round of the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Spartans had won their third CAC championship at the expense of the Eagles last November, downing the Eagles 1-0 in double overtime. This time, it's the Eagles moving forward in the conference tournament.

How It Happened
• The Eagles took control of the contest early. The Eagles maintained a majority of the early possession as the Spartans were forced to defend in first half of the opening stanza.
• Mary Washington got on the board in the 32nd minute. Allye Reynolds took a corner kick and hit a beautiful pass into the middle of the Spartan box. Reynolds put the ball right on the head of Lizzie Brooks who headed the ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 Mary Washington lead.
• The Eagles outshot the Spartans 6-0 in the opening 45 minutes while they also had a 5-1 margin in corner kicks.
• Mary Washington pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute as Katie Rouch found the net for the Eagles.
• The Spartans finally managed to get a shot on goal in the 70th minute as Victoria Niller struck a shot that was saved by Eagle goalie Haley Randall.
• York would get three more shots in the game but they wouldn't be able to break the shutout as their 2016 season came to an end.
