York College senior defender Jade Haines has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week presented by WellSpan Health for the week ending Oct. 25.

Haines led a Spartan defense that posted a pair of shutouts and allowed just nine total shots in a pair of wins over Alvernia and DeSales last week. Haines also contributed to the penalty corner unit with an assist on the second goal of a 4-0 victory over DeSales.

Haines and the 17th-ranked Spartans close out the regular season with a top-25 battle against No. 21 Messiah at home on Wednesday followed by a trip to Hood on Saturday.
