York College senior Maddi Haggerty has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week presented by WellSpan Health for the week ending Oct. 18.

Haggerty led York to a 2-0 week with wins over Immaculata and Marymount as the Spartans capped off the fall slate undefeated (5-0) for the first time since 2017, winning all matches by scores of 7-0. York's No. 1 player scored a 7-6, 6-4 win over Hailey Elwell from Immaculata and a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Alejandra Gallegos of Marymount in singles play, while posting a pair of 6-0 wins at No. 1 doubles on the week.

Haggerty (set to graduate in December) closed out her career a combined 10-0 this fall while competing exclusively at the top singles and doubles flights. She also earned Commonwealth Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors for the third time this fall.
