YORK, Pa. - York College field hockey junior midfielder Kate Egan has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week presented by WellSpan Health for the week ending September 6.

Egan led the Spartans in points (4) and goals (2) in games at No. 12 Stevens and Gettysburg to open the 2026 season. The junior scored the game-tying goal in the 40th minute of a back-and-forth battle at the 12th-ranked Ducks last Tuesday in the season opener. She then notched the game-winning tally in last Saturday's victory at Gettysburg to lift the Spartans to the first win of the year.

Egan and the Spartans are back in action with a pair of home games this week against Swarthmore on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a noon showdown with St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday.
