Spartan Women’s Volleyball Honored by AVCA for Academic Excellence

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The York College women's volleyball team earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for academic success with the AVCA Team Academic Award as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The recipients of the AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).

The Spartans were one of just four programs from the MAC Commonwealth to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award as they were joined by Eastern, Messiah and Widener. An impressive number of 13 York women's volleyball student-athletes were honored on the MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll which recognizes student-athletes who possess a fall semester GPA of 3.20 or better on a 4.0 scale.
