Spartan Volleyball Closes Out Season with Home Tri-Match

YORK, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team concluded the season with a pair of 3-0 losses at home to Haverford and Misericordia on Saturday.

How It Happened
Haverford took the first match of the day from York with scores of 15-10, 25-18 and 25-13.

The Fords racked up 32 kills with just 12 hitting errors for a .263 hitting percentage. The Spartans compiled just 17 kills with 26 errors and were held to a season-low -.093 hitting percentage. Haverford totaled five blocks and 42 digs, while York compiled four blocks and 31 digs.

Eliana Brown led all players with eight kills, followed by her teammates Elizabeth Cella and Fiona Moord who each had seven. Saniya Esters led the Spartans offense with four kills. Defensively, Sami Baer led all players with 15 digs, while Izabela Potocnjak and Maggie Turner tied for the overall lead with three blocks each.

The Spartans closed out the season with three-set loss to regular-season Freedom conference champions Misericordia by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-20.

The Cougars compiled 36 kills to just 10 attack errors for a .280 hitting percentage and got an offensive boost from 14 service aces. The Spartans put together 22 kills with 16 attack errors for a .066 hitting percentage. On the defensive front, both teams posted 44 digs and five blocks each.

Jennifer Nicometo led all players with eight kills, while Esters paced the Spartans with seven. Jenna Schuda led the way with five aces and 24 assists. Baer held the overall lead with 14 digs and Morgan Nolte led all players with five blocks.
